Burnout & Exhaustion

When you’re running on empty but still feel like you have to keep going.

 

Exhaustion isn’t always fixed by an early night or a quiet weekend.

 

You might still be getting through everything that needs to be done, going to work, looking after your family, answering the messages, remembering the appointments and keeping life moving, but underneath it all, you feel depleted.

And yet, because you’re still functioning, it can be easy to tell yourself that you should be coping better.

Burnout and ongoing exhaustion rarely happen overnight. They can build quietly over months or even years of juggling responsibilities, managing stress, carrying the mental load and repeatedly putting your own needs further down the list. Eventually, you may realise that you don’t just feel tired — you don’t quite feel like yourself anymore.

That doesn’t mean you’ve suddenly become less capable. It may simply be a sign that you’ve been asking too much of yourself for too long, without enough opportunity to genuinely recover.

Understanding what’s happening can be a helpful place to begin.
