Stop Rushing Start Living COVER EBOOK.jpg

Stop Rushing Start Living was born from my own journey of stepping off the hamster wheel of busyness and rediscovering a slower, more meaningful way to live.

Shortly after turning fifty, I realised I was always doing but rarely living. My days felt like an endless to-do list, and even time with the people I loved sometimes felt like just another task to tick off. I longed for simpler, more manageable days, for space to breathe, to feel truly connected, and to find fulfilment again.

Maybe it was the awareness that I had more years behind me than ahead, but I knew something had to change. I was burnt out. Stress had become my constant companion, and I felt disconnected from myself, from joy, and from the simple moments that make life meaningful.

Everything shifted when I discovered the practice of slow living, a way of stepping off autopilot and reconnecting with what truly matters. This approach transformed not only how I lived, but how I felt. It helped me find calm, clarity, and a sense of purpose that had been missing for years.

The transformation was so profound that I felt compelled to share it with others.

Drawing on my work as a psychologist and my own lived experience, Stop Rushing Start Living offers the same simple, evidence-based tools and practices that helped me and that I now use to help others, reclaim their time, energy, and zest for life.

In Stop Rushing Start Living, you’ll learn how to:

• Weave slow living into the life you already have
• Simplify your days and set boundaries that actually stick
• Say no with confidence and ease
• Find joy in small moments and cultivate lasting gratitude
• Let go of expectations, clutter, and habits that no longer serve you
• Practise mindfulness in ways that fit into real life
• Build sustainable habits that nurture calm and clarity
• Live with more presence, purpose, and meaning

Every chapter offers practical exercises and real-life strategies to help you create meaningful, lasting change. You’ll also be guided to develop your own slow living action plan, a personal roadmap for continuing this journey long after the final page.

This isn’t just another self-help book. It’s a practical roadmap for busy people who want to slow down, stress less, and finally start enjoying the life they’ve worked so hard to build.

So let’s step onto this path together, one unhurried moment at a time and discover just how expansive life becomes when we give ourselves permission to slow down.

Excerpt:
“At its heart, slow living is about creating a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and aligned with your values. It’s about being intentional with your time and energy focusing on what brings joy and letting go of what drains or distracts you.

It’s available to anyone, anywhere, at any stage of life. You don’t need to buy acreage, quit your job, or completely reinvent your world. True transformation begins with small, mindful choices that gather momentum over time.

I was fifty when I fully committed to the principles of slow living, and the ripple effects have been remarkable. I’ve seen clients in their seventies and eighties start this journey too and the spark in their eyes says it all. It’s never too late to make changes.”

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck on autopilot, or simply craving a gentler, more fulfilling way to live, this book will help you slow down, reconnect with what truly matters, and start truly living again.
